Our History
The Great Valley Community Organization (GVCO) is an outgrowth of the Great Valley Basketball League (GVBL) that started in 2001 with 60 girls. GVCO is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization, EIN: 26-1139318, run by a core of dedicated volunteers. In recent years, GVCO has expanded to include tutoring, arts, senior programs, community, and educational events as well as new sports to serve the entire Great Valley community. Over 5,500 families have participated in the organization’s activities and more than a third of the school district’s elementary students currently take part in GVCO’s youth sports offerings.
Our Mission
The Great Valley Community Organization helps build a strong, vibrant, and connected community by providing facilities, activities and programs enriching the lives of all residents.
Our Vision
Phase One of the GVCO facility opened in the Fall of 2023 with 2 large multisport courts and a flag football field. GVCO continues to grow and serves thousands of children and adults with programs in basketball, football, cheer, badminton, pickleball, crew and community service opportunities annually. The vision of Great Valley Community Organization is to evolve GVCO from one of the area’s premier sports/recreational programs to a world-class community resource that delivers a broad range of sports, educational, arts, recreational and senior programs that address key community needs.
A Plan for the Future
GVCO has compelling plans to build a safe, convenient, and attractive facility that offers a variety of healthy and fulfilling activities for all ages. When all phases are completed, the GVCO Community Center will have multiple courts, an outdoor field, a cafe, an elevated track and work out area, as well as multi-purpose rooms for other community programming, activities, and events.
