Mason Jiang and his fellow scouts are building a stone retaining wall structure for a new GVCO sign at the Bacton Hill entrance.
Retaining Wall

Owen Li, an outstanding student and community member, approached GVCO seeking an Eagle Scout project. As a GVCO intern, he had already shown dedication and initiative. Over six months, he planned, designed, and installed a beautiful retaining wall, now the backdrop to our playing field at the new GVCO Community Center. His bio speaks volumes, but to truly appreciate Owen, you’d have to meet him.
One Eagle Scout prerequisite is that the organization provides materials, which in this case included costly hardscaping blocks, mortar, and adhesives. GVCO reached out to the Zubyk family, believing they might be interested in supporting both the project and Owen’s dedication. After meeting him, the Zubyks quickly saw the impact this opportunity could have and enthusiastically agreed to help. Read their response to our funding request.

This project showcases the power of community collaboration, with residents, organizations, and businesses coming together for a meaningful impact. It’s a testament to how Giving Tuesday is important, but in Great Valley, generosity thrives year-round.
