Caring Hands

GVCO Caring Hands is in its 2nd decade of Community Service!

Our Great Valley community has had its share of unfortunate experiences – with many unforeseen consequences for those involved and affected. GVCO Caring Hands was established to empower local middle and high school students to support their community by volunteering for events, running collection drives and raising funds for those that need it.

Caring Hands Response Fund

The Caring Hands Response Fund is used to quickly help our Great Valley Community and Families cope with a sudden crisis.

In the past, we’ve assisted families that lost their homes in fires, the untimely death of a parent, or other catastrophic event befallen on a community member. Caring Hands also supports Seniors in our area, raises funds and food for the local food bank, donates gift cards for needy families and other local causes that benefit from our help.

Your continued support throughout the year is greatly appreciated.

Testimonials

“For several years Caring Hands of GVCO has contributed generously to Great Valley students and families in need in a variety of ways. They donated thousands of dollars in gift cards for groceries and children’s holiday gifts and even helped families pay bills during especially difficult times. They have come through when it seemed all hope was lost. Caring Hands seems to always be there for the Great Valley community.”

Krista Russell, Great Valley School District Social Worker

“AWESOME! The Caring Hands Foundation made an amazing contribution of 2000.00 in Giant Gift cards for GV families who may need support. It was presented to us in time for the upcoming holidays.”

Terri Lazar, Great Valley School District Social Worker

“Thank you so much GVCO Caring Hands! It was so great to receive your initial phone call and what a wonderful result it led to yesterday! The group of kids have pulled together what will make for a great Thanksgiving next week for about 225 people – WOW!”. The “Good Neighbors” initiative from GVCO Caring Hands just prior to Thanksgiving resulted in 25 turkeys.

Kathy Sullivan, Executive Director, West Chester Area Senior Center

“On behalf of the People’s Pantry at Church Road I would like to thank the GVCO Caring Hands group for all the work that went into the food drive held at the Paoli Acme on June 3rd. An amazing 274 pounds of food along with $114.25 was collected for our pantry.”

Mary Decker, People’s Pantry

“Thanks for all you did to get 70 presents donated, wrapped, and delivered to the Phoenixville Senior Center for our Holiday Party. Santa’s visit with presents is always one of the highlights of the holiday season at our center!”

Christine Garton, Program Coordinator, Phoenixville Area Senior Center

“The Seniors were so excited by the gifts! Santa arrived around 11:00 and gave out the gifts. Everyone liked the presents. Some wanted to take them home and wait till Christmas to open them. Caring Hands Foundation made this a very special day. Thank you so much.” GVCO Caring Hands donated 75 wrapped Christmas gifts.
