THE GV CREW PROGRAM

We are a competitive rowing team, comprised of male and female athletes in grades 8-12.

Crew is a non-contact sport that requires intense physical training and competition. It offers a safer option than traditional contact athletics, with the same intensity. No experience is necessary. The skills needed are: hard work, determination, and the ability to work, row and win as a team!

Season:
Your athlete can row in Fall, Winter and Spring! Some rowers will be passionate enough to row all year long, others will choose between seasons. For more information about the sessions and practices, see the Season Info page.

Who Can Row?
No experience is necessary - crew is the ultimate walk-on sport. However, rowing demands endurance, strength, discipline, skill, and teamwork.

Endurance and strength is obtained through regular training. Coaches and Team Captains, teach discipline, skills, and teamwork. Crew provides opportunities for students with a wide range of athletic abilities. Ask us how!

Volunteering
We need you and your kids help to keep costs down and make this a successful program. Volunteering is a must, whether it's a fundraiser, donation, a Friday or Saturday night pasta or pizza dinner, regatta food or transportation; we need and expect your help.
